Campus transportation and parking enhancement process
Princeton University has begun to develop a new plan that will establish a framework to guide the evolution of the campus from 2016 through 2026, and beyond. The planning process will conclude in 2016, and will include strategies for land use, campus design, landscape, infrastructure, sustainability, and all modes of movement and transportation

In conjunction with the new campus planning process, Transportation & Parking Services (TPS) is reviewing how members of the University community and visitors access, park and move around campus.

The objective for the review is to facilitate the ease of access to campus while making the most efficient use of parking spaces. To that end, the areas under consideration as part of the enhancement include:

• Parking optimization
• Promoting transit programs
• Focusing on the existing car share and campus shuttle programs
• Encouraging use of alternative modes of transportation, including    improving bicycle and pedestrian experience

One example of optimization that is already in place is the installation of access control equipment in the University's West Garage to maintain access for valid permit holders while continuing to provide access for free public parking during evenings and weekends.

TPS is committed to providing parking and transportation services that promote sustainability, accessibility and mobility for the Princeton University community, keeping "Princeton in Motion".
