SECRET KEY ENCRYPTION SYSTEM USING PERMUTATION OPERATIONS

Researchers at Princeton University have developed a novel new encryption system employing bit-level permutation operations that may be used to enhance well-known ciphers such as RC5.  Princeton is currently seeking industrial collaborators to commercialize this technology.

The new algorithm avoids the general problem inherent with bit-level permutations in most programmable processors, that of slowness of computation.   It is anticipated that this system will have security, performance and energy consumption advantages over currently available systems.

Patent protection is pending.
