PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

            Researchers at Princeton University have developed an innovative software capable of investment portfolio selection, starting from data on past returns of groups of securities. The system is based on an algorithm for minimizing the logarithm of the regret in online game playing, and solves a convex optimization problem before every trading time-period.  Experimental verification based on past performance has shown the algorithm to perform better and more efficiently when compared to current systems.
