Princeton Alumni Weekly is unique in several ways…
Its 65,000 readers are exceptionally affluent and influential. According
to reader surveys, 74% report an average household income of $75,000+
and 65% report a total household net worth of $500,000 or more.
Princeton alumni are truly loyal to their alma mater: The 2004-05
Annual Giving campaign raised the highest total in Princeton's history
-- with 58.6 percent of undergraduate alumni participating.
It is the most frequently published alumni magazine in the world,
publishing 15 times per year – more than twice as often as
the magazines of most other schools.
It is editorially independent of the university it covers and derives
two-thirds of its income from alumni subscriptions and paid advertising
– qualities that make for a lively and topical magazine.
Princeton alumni read the magazine. In fact, reader surveys show
that 85% of the alumni read or look through all 16 issues* and 44%
report that their copy is read by one or more persons.

Rates are effective through December 2008.
Discounts
Frequency discounts can be applied to ads one-sixth of a page or
more with mixed size units counting toward frequency:
5% for 3 times
10% for 7 times
15% for 11 times
20% for 15 times
Supplied inserts
The insertion cost per page for supplied inserts is 75% of the
basic rate. The advertiser must also pay for any additional costs
incurred in the binding and mailing of the insert.
Advertisers must supply a sample insert so that all costs can be
anticipated and printing requirements met.

Production Requirements Line Screen: 150
dpi
Material furnished on disk: PageMaker 6.5, Quark
4.0 files or InDesign 1.5 (or higher) accompanied by a proof. Please
indicate if MAC or PC. All printer and screen fonts must be included
(absolutely no font substitutions allowed by Printer or Publication).
All images must be supplied in high-resolution form. Color proofs
must be supplied or color specs must be indicated on laser print
out. For PDF or EPS, all fonts and high-resolution images must be
embedded. Contact the advertising director for confirmation and
requirements of other formats.
Mechanical Requirements: Negatives should be supplied
right reading emulsion down with a proof copy. In the absence of
film or electronic files, please supply high quality repro or mechanical
(right reading emulsion side up).
Color: Please specify four-color process colors
as CMYK percentages in electronic files. Film for color ads should
have 4 corner marks located 1/4 inch outside trim area. Register
marks should be "line" copy at least 1/4 inch long and
not over .003 inches in line weight. Each color should be one piece
of film in exact register. A matchprint is strongly requested. In
the absence of an acceptable 4-color proof, one will be pulled by
the Printer. This will result in an additional charge to advertisers.
Digital proofs are not acceptable as proofs.
Proofs: Please enclose or separately mail a laser,
iris, matchprint or other acceptable proof at 100% size of ad. Without
a proof, we cannot guarantee your ad will appear exactly as formatted
on your computer.

Rates effective September 2008 and are valid through the July
2009 issue:
$2.85 per word (one time)
$2.70 per word, per insertion (2-3 times)
$2.50 per word, per insertion (4-10 times)
$2.35 per word, per insertion (11-14 times)
$2.25 per word, per insertion (15 times)
Boldfacing of words is an additional charge of $2.85 per
word per issue.
Icons can highlight your ad for an additional charge of $15 per
issue.

made payable to Princeton Alumni Weekly.

Classified display ads permit the use of logos, art work, etc.
at a rate of $140 per column inch per issue. 1 column inch = 2 1/16"
x 1" (w x h).Frequency discounts do not apply. There are no
cash or agency discounts.
Color can be added for an additional cost of $100/ad/insertion (must
be CMYK).
