Nanotechnology engineers from Princeton have 3-D printed an ear from calf cells and silver nanoparticles that picks up radio signals at frequencies beyond human capacity.
PCCM researchers Andrew Houck and Jason Petta and their students recently achieved a milestone in quantum computing. They showed that a microwave photon can be used to transfer quantum information between two qubits spaced roughly 1 cm apart. Each qubit is comprised of a single electron spin trapped in an InAs nanowire. The report appears in Nature 490, 380 (2012).
