PCCM Collaborates with California State University - Northridge to Improve Diversity in Materials Science
California State University at Northridge (CSUN) has partnered with PCCM through a PREM (Partnership for Research and Education in Materials) award focused on computational materials science. CSUN is a Hispanic-serving institution, granting degrees through the Master’s level. 4-5 CSUN students, supported through the PREM, participate in PCCM’s REU program each summer. Since CSUN does not grant Ph.D.’s, we hope that some of these CSUN students will choose to pursue a Ph.D. at Princeton University. Dan Steinberg will visit CSUN this fall to give a presentation on PREM REU opportunities to the undergraduate students of CSUN. PCCM and CSUN's PREM is currently in its second term, having recently been renewed. Nicholas Kioussis (CSUN, PI) and Annabella Selloni, (Princeton, co-PI) led the previous cycle (DMR-0611562). Gang Lu (CSUN) is the current PI with Nicholas Kioussis (CSUN), Donna Sheng (CSUN), and Annabella Selloni (Princeton University) as co-PI's (DMR-1205734).
