2012 Summer of Learning Symposium
As a culminating experience to the internship program, students are required to participate in the Summer of Learning (SOL) Fall Symposium. This event allows students to share details of their internships with fellow interns, faculty and research staff and discuss plans for future research and independent work. The SOL symposium is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of individual students, exchange perspectives, develop a shared mission, and consider practical, achievable solutions to the world's most pressing environmental challenges.
On October 5, 2012, all interns are expected to make a brief presentation regarding their summer internship and will be assigned to one of the following sessions:
Presentations should include a summary of the summer experience with connections to the Internship Program themes. PowerPoint slides or alternative visual material is appropriate. Presentations may be up to seven (7) minutes in duration. An additional three (3) minutes will be allotted for questions and group discussion following each presentation. For group presentations, a 20-minute time slot is allotted. For more information, see Suggested Guidelines for Preparing Effective Presentations. Examples of past student presentations are available in the archive section.
