Chairman's Welcome:
Welcome to the Department of Physics at Princeton University! As you explore this site you will find a wealth of information about us: who we are, what research we do, what academic programs we offer, what talks and seminars are scheduled, employment opportunities, and much more.
For our department members and current students, we use the website to communicate information about all kinds of matters: if you are new to the department and have a question about "how to ...", just poke about the website for a bit. Chances are, you will find the answer. We apologize to our external visitors, but some "internal" pages can only be viewed if you have a Princeton netid.
We extend a special welcome to prospective students of all kinds: high school students thinking of applying to Princeton, Princeton undergraduates thinking about majoring in physics, prospective graduate students. By exploring these pages you can learn about the vast range of research being done by our faculty and students, learn about the structure of our undergraduate and graduate academic programs, and get information on admissions procedures.
We also invite visits from our alumni: our PhDs, undergraduate majors, and even those who just took a physics course for fun (or necessity). There is a special alumni page where alums can elect to have information about themselves posted (just send email to the webmaster). We would like to keep up with your doings and be able to communicate with you about special events.
Enjoy your visit!
