Postdoctoral Research Associate - Condensed Matter
Postdoctoral or more senior research positions are available in the Department of Physics under supervision of Professor Ali Yazdani and Professor Robert Cava at Princeton University. The successful candidates will be part of an interdisciplinary experimental and theoretical team working on materials that support topologically protected electronic surface states. Postdocs will work closely with faculty in Physics and Chemistry at Princeton and senior scientists at Brookhaven National Laboratory to characterize the surface and bulk band structures of the relevant materials by Angle Resolved Photoelectron Spectroscopy (ARPES). Part of the researcher’s effort will be focused on coordinating data and analysis between characterizations from different techniques including ARPES as well as scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) measurements. The successful candidate must have a Doctorate degree in experimental condensed matter physics or related field, with a particular specialization in ARPES. Experience in carrying out independent ARPES experiments at synchrotron facilities is required and experience in spin resolved ARPES is considered highly advantageous.
