High Energy Theory Informal Seminar - IAS - Horacio Casini, Centro Atomico Bariloche - Strong Subadditivity of Entanglement Entropy and Quantum Field
I will describe several issues related to the combined constraints imposedby strong subadditivity and Lorentz covariance on the entanglement entropyin QFT. In particular I will show the emergence of the two dimensionalc-theorem from properties of the entanglement entropy and itsgeneralization to three dimensions. This last one coincides with theconjectured monotonous running of the free energy on a three sphere underrenormalization group transformations (F-theorem). I will also discusspossible generalizations to higher dimensions and some intriguingrelations between strong subadditivity and reflection positivity.
