High Energy Theory Seminar - IAS - Chris Tully, Princeton University - Current Results from the LHC and Plans for 8 TeV
In 2011, the pace of the Standard Model Higgs search far exceeded expectation. All but a narrow mass window between 122-128 GeV is excluded. At this point only two search channels can provide meaningful insight into resolving this search in 2012. Weighing heavily in this race will be the high-pT outlook for new physics beyond the Standard Model. The LHC at 8 TeV with 16 fb-1 of data will make an unprecedented mark on naturalness in the laws of physics.
