Graduate Fellowships
Joseph Taylor Fellowship
We are delighted to announce the Joseph H. Taylor Graduate Student Fellowship which was made possible by a generous gift from Prof. Taylor. The Taylor Fellowship will be awarded annually to a different physics graduate student and comes with a $2000 research fund. Current recipients.

Prizes and Grants
Honorific Fellowships:
The Graduate school offers via annual competition (by nomination only) a limited number of Honorific fellowships to graduate students in their last year of graduate school. The fellowships consist of full tuition and a (taxable) stipend for the ten-month academic year.
Ray Grimm Memorial Prize in Computational Physics:
This award, established in May 1985 by the many friends of Ray Grimm and Cray Research, Inc., makes available $\$4,500$ for two advanced students (or $\$1,500$ each if shared between three students) who has demonstrated significant achievement in computational physics. This prize is awarded via annual competition by nomination only.
CGS/UMI (University Microfilms International) Distinguished Dissertation Awards:
This award carries an honorarium of $\$1,000$ and travel expenses to the presentation ceremony http://www.cgsnet.org/Default.aspx?tabid=170.
Teaching Prizes
The physics department offers teaching awards to those who have been outstanding AIs in courses. This award is by nomination only, and it is offered to up to five students once an academic year.
Travel Grants
The Compton Fund
The Compton Fund is a travel fund that reimburses up to $600 per student per fiscal year (July 1st-June 30th) for participation in a conference, workshop or school.
To receive the funds, students should apply by clicking:

Fill in the appropriate information as requested. An automated email will then be sent to your advisor for approval. The Graduate Administrator will then receive an email to approve. Your funds are only approved when you receive an email from the Graduate Administrator. Please print this email to submit with your reimbursements.
Please keep receipts for all expenses you wish reimbursed.
Please submit the reimbursement request either through your advisor's (or pre-general advisor's) group assistant, noting that vouchers must be processed within 60 days of your travel.

The Graduate School annually solicits proposals from graduate students for funding to support scholarly symposia, seminar series and workshops.
