Research

Recent research by Steve Gubser and collaborators focuses on three related themes:

• How do string theory and gravitational physics relate to the interactions among quarks and gluons?

• How can string theory be used to characterize systems at finite density and temperature?

• What new phemonena arise in quantum field theory when strongly time-dependent conditions are considered?

Gubser is actively involved in outreach, including recently publication of a non-technical book on string theory.
