Lina Attalah is managing editor of Egypt Independent, a sister web publication of Al-Masry Al-Youm, Egypt’s foremost Arabic-language independent daily newspaper. She has written for Reuters, Cairo Times, the Daily Star, and the Christian Science Monitor, among others, and has worked as a radio producer with the BBC World Service Trust in Darfur, Sudan. Attalah’s areas of interest include migration, border regions and marginalized communities.
