International Security Studies Smith Richardson Foundation Predoctoral Fellowships Security studies Available to advanced doctoral students, including non-U.S. citizens from universities other than Yale, in the field of security studies, with a particular emphasis on international, diplomatic, and military history. IREX, International Research and Exchange Board   Individual Advanced Research Opportunities Program Eastern Europe and Eurasia Provides an opportunity for scholars to increase their understanding of critical policy-relevant issues, develop and sustain international networks, and collaborate with foreign scholars on topics vital to both the academic and policy-making communities.   Applicants to the IARO program can propose to do research in up to three countries for up to nine months.
