Mandela: Man, Myth, and Memory

A panel on Nelson Mandela, "Mandela: Man, Myth, and Memory," will be held on December 11, 2013, at 5 p.m., in 219 Aaron Burr Hall.

Free and open to the public, the event is sponsored by the Program in African Studies and the Mamdouha S. Bobst Center for Peach and Justice.

The panel includes Simon Gikandi, Robert Schirmer Professor of English Jennifer Widner, professor of politics and international affairs; and Emmanuel Kreike, professors of history; doctoral students Kim Worthington (African studies) who served in the post-1994 South African African National Congress government, and Saarah Jappie (history); and other members of the Princeton University community. The panelists will comment on Mandela’s contributions to Africa and the world. A discussion, open to audience participation, will follow.
