A native of McLean, Virginia, Christian was a Politics major at Princeton, with certificates in Political Economy and Latin American Studies. In working with the Arias Foundation, which works for a lasting peace in Central America and throughout the world, he hopes to launch a career dedicated to influencing US-Latin American relations.

hailing from McLean, Virginia, Alex was a pre-med English major with a certificate
in Latin American Studies. Alex's fellowship focuses on music education in
the eastern lowlands of Bolivia with APAC. Alex describes her fellowship
as "an experience that has carried me into landscapes that may only
be rightly translated by the luminous music that these past months have engendered." After
her PiLA fellowship, Alex plans on attending medical school.
