We are pleased to announce that the 20th Princeton Japanese Pedagogy Forum (PJPF) will take place on May 11-12, 2013 at Princeton University. The theme of the Forum is “ Connection, collaboration, and articulation: beyond differences ( 連携、協働、接続：多様性をつなぐこころみ ).” Two keynote speakers, Professor Hideo Hosokawa (Waseda University) and Professor Seiichi Makino (Princeton University) have been invited to give talks on this theme.

In the current era globalization as well as information technologies shape our lifestyles: the flow of people, products and information is much faster than before. People have more opportunities to be in contact and negotiate with people who have different backgrounds. In this context, Japanese language education needs to collaborate with different fields, schools, and communities more than ever. This collaboration is necessary with not only different subjects (e.g., social studies, science) or academic areas (e.g., literature, history, anthropology, sociology) but also other schools (e.g., high school to college), other fields of language education (e.g., ESL, Kokugo education) as well as different kind of communities (e.g., local community, online community). In the Forum we would like to provide a platform for teachers of Japanese to not only exchange or share information with people from those fields but reach mutual understanding and certain level of agreement if necessary.

The Forum invite papers related to the main theme for both pre-college and college level as well as heritage Japanese language and culture education. In addition, we welcome any paper related to Japanese language education in general, including second language acquisition, linguistics, and technology in language learning and teaching, among others. The submission deadline is January 20, 2013. Notification of accepted papers will be sent in February 2012. Please note that an abstract and a paper in the Proceedings should be written in the same language as the one used in the presentation. Accepted papers will be published on the website. 第２０回プリンストン日本語教育フォーラムのテーマは「連携、協働、接続：多様性をつなぐこころみ」で、５月１１日（土）１２日（日）に開催する運びとなりました。基調講演には早稲田大学の細川英雄先生、当校の名誉教授牧野成一先生をお迎えいたします。

現代はグローバリゼーションと情報化社会、テクノロジーの時代と言われる時代で、人々やものの流れが以前にも増して急速な時代になっています。そのような状況の中で人々は異なる背景をもつ人々と接触したり交渉をしたりする機会が増えており、日本語教育も以前にも増して異なる分野、教育機関、コミュニティなどと連携する必要性が生じてきました。この連携は、異なる教科（社会や理科など）や学問分野（文学、歴史、人類学、社会学など）だけでなく、ほかの教育機関（K-12、大学、日本語学校など）、ことばの教育（英語教育、国語教育、ほかの外国語教育など）、コミュニティ（地域社会、オンライングループなど）など幅広い範囲に渡って必要だと考えられます。今回のフォーラムでは様々な分野、教育機関、コミュニティなどと情報を交換、共有するだけでなく、必要があれば分野をこえてあるレベルでの同意に達するような話し合いの機会が提供できればと考えています。

今回のフォーラムでは上記のテーマに沿った論文を、大学レベルだけではなく、K-12、継承語教育などの分野で募集いたします。上記のテーマ以外でも日本語教育一般、第２言語習得、言語学、言語教育・学習とテクノロジーなどの分野での発表も歓迎いたします。発表は２０分と、質疑応答１０分という構成です。発表要旨は２０１３年１月２０日までに以下のリンクからご提出ください。採択結果は２月中にお送りします。
