Lars Hedin is Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and the Princeton Environmental Institute, Director of the Program in Environmental Studies, and Acting Director of the Princeton Environmental Institute. His research interests include ecosystem analysis; emergence and maintenance of geographically broad patterns in cycling of nutrients and greenhouse trace gases; local-scale microbial processes; and global-scale controls on ecosystem structure and function. He has written articles for the publications "Nature, Environmental Science and Technology", and "Revista Chilena de Historia Natural" among numerous others.
