Certificate Program
Students may select from undergraduate and graduate courses and seminars in African American Studies, American Studies, Anthropology, Art & Archaeology, Comparative Literature, Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, Economics, English, French & Italian (appropriate French courses only), History, Politics, Sociology, Spanish & Portuguese Languages & Cultures, the Woodrow Wilson School, and the Program in Latin American Studies.
Requirements for Admission
Students normally enter the program in the sophomore year, but an earlier start is encouraged. Admission requirements are:
- Satisfactory completion of the requirements for admission to a department.
- Satisfactory completion of Spanish 107 or its equivalent.
It is strongly recommended that Spanish section students also complete a minimum of Portuguese 108 where feasible and Spanish 222. French 107 or its equivalent is required for those students planning to specialize in French-speaking areas. French 207 is strongly recommended.
