Identity Politics Working Group

The Identity Politics Working Group (IPWG) brings together faculty and graduate students with shared research interests in the politics of ethnicity, race, and nationalism. The group seeks to foster exchange across the sub-fields of comparative politics, international relations, American politics, and normative theory, as well as other social science disciplines. The group meets for a monthly Workshop on Identity Politics, at which participants discuss their work-in-progress. Once each semester, a scholar from outside the University is invited to present their work to the Workshop. The Working Group also hosts an annual symposium on an identity-related topic and supports some identity-related research initiatives. In 2008-9 the Working Group is being coordinated by Professors Mark Beissinger and Evan Lieberman.

The IPWG is supported by funds from the Bobst Center.  For more information, please contact Prerna Singh (prernas@princeton.edu ).
