Professor Robert P. George has been appointed to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom. The commission is an independent, bipartisan group that monitors freedom of religion abroad and provides policy recommendations; members are appointed by the president and leaders of both political parties in the Senate and House of Representatives. Professor Melissa Lane, professor of politics and director of the Program in Values and Public Life at the University Center for Human Values, has accepted a Fellowship to the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University for the coming academic year.
