Andrew Moravcsik is Professor of Politics and Director of the European Union Program at Princeton University. From 1992 to 2004, he held similar positions at Harvard University. He has authored over 100 scholarly publications on European integration, global human rights, transatlantic relations, US and West European foreign policy, negotiation analysis, international organization, international relations theory, and defense-industrial globalization?also the subjects he teaches. His history of the European Union, The Choice for Europe, has been called "the most important work in the field." (American Historical Review) Two edited volumes address EU politics, and forthcoming books will analyze the evolution of international human rights regimes, the democratic legitimacy of international organizations, and the theory and practice of European integration. Moravcsik is Non-Resident Senior Fellow of the Brookings Institution and a regular contributor to Newsweek magazine. His commentary has appeared in public affairs publications in 15 languages. Before entering academia, he served as trade negotiator for the US government, special assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, and editor of a Washington foreign policy journal. He holds a BA (History) from Stanford University, an MA (International Relations) from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and a PhD (Political Science, 1992) from Harvard University, as well as having studied at various German and French universities.
