David's dissertation research focuses on the evolution of order in "North-South" world political economy and how this is reflected in the law and politics of international institutions. Currently, he is studying the strategic governance of "Generalized System of Preferences" (GSP) and GSP-related trade schemes, which industrialized countries use to selectively grant nonreciprocal trade benefits to developing countries. Prior to Princeton, David worked at the Antitrust Division, U.S. Department of Justice, and with the U.S. Forest Service in the Eastern Sierra Nevada.
