Specialization: Comparative politics; international relations

Gwyneth McClendon has research interests in human rights, ethnic politics, development and political psychology. Her dissertation pushes political scientists to look beyond assumptions of self-interest and consider the implications of other-regarding emotions for the implementation of development projects and for election campaigns in both developing and developed countries. She has also conducted studies of compliance and engagement with international human rights courts. Her research employs statistical, experimental and qualitative methods.
