Lisa Camner graduated with a degree in international studies from the University of Chicago in 2004. Her undergraduate thesis sought to explain why the countries of Europe chose to cede sovereignty to the supranational European Court of Human Rights. She also studied for one year at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris. After graduation, she worked for two years as an assistant editor at Potomac Books, Inc., a small publishing house focusing on international affairs, before commencing her graduate studies. Her current research interests include the international human rights regime, the evolution of norms, and rules compliance in the international system.
