In my dissertation, I argue that it is a necessary component of a liberal foreign policy that the state intervene in commerce between citizens and foreigners. A liberal state's fair trade policy should have the primary aim of correcting the most objectionable forms of exploitation. Besides fair trade, I also have research interests in the following areas: global justice, human rights, democratic theory, and political obligation.
