Jeffrey Stout is the author of The Flight from Authority and Ethics after Babel. His new book, Democracy and Tradition, examines religious and ethical dimensions of democratic culture. Stout's interests include theories of religion, religious and philosophical ethics, philosophy of religion, social criticism, political thought, modern theology, and film. He is a contributing editor of the Journal of Religious Ethics.
