Vinay Jawahar is in the second year of the doctoral program in comparative politics at Princeton University. Before starting at Princeton University in September 2006, he was program associate at the Inter-American Dialogue, a Washington-based forum on Western Hemisphere affairs, where he supported the Dialogue's work on Colombia and the broader Andean region; democratic governance; and human rights and security policy.
Jawahar's articles have been published in Current History, Financial Times, Los Angeles Times, El Espectador, Columbia Journal of International Affairs, Oxford Analytica and Brown Journal of World Affairs, among others. He has commented on regional politics and U.S. policy towards Latin America in various media, including National Public Radio, CNN en Espa?ol, washingtonpost.com, Christian Science Monitor, and other U.S. and international news outlets. Jawahar received his B.A. (hon.) in International Politics & Economics and Spanish from Middlebury College, Vermont and studied in Chile at the Universidad Cat?lica de Valpara?so.
