Ali A. Valenzuela is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics and Program in Latino Studies at Princeton University. His teaching and research are in American politics, with a focus on Latino politics, public opinion, voter turnout, religion and politics, and racial and ethnic identity in the U.S. His current research uses public opinion surveys, geographic and electoral data, as well as field and survey experiments to investigate the causes and consequences of identity politics for individual voter turnout and support for public policies. His research has been published in the Quarterly Journal of Political Science, American Politics Research, Presidential Studies Quarterly and Political Research Quarterly. Professor Valenzuela earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University and his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
