Bass is the author of Freedom's Battle: The Origins of Humanitarian Intervention (Knopf) and Stay the Hand of Vengeance: The Politics of War Crimes Tribunals (Princeton University Press). He is currently writing a book about America, India, and the Bangladesh massacres and war. He has also written articles and book chapters on human rights and international justice. A former reporter for The Economist, he has written often for The New York Times, as well as writing for The New Yorker, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, The New Republic, and other publications. He has won the Stanley Kelley teaching prize in the politics department.
