Jaquilyn is a graduate student in the Joint Degree Program in Politics and Social Policy with concentrations in International Relations and Formal/Quantitative Methods. Her research interests center on ethnic politics and human rights. More specifically, Jaquilyn is interested in ethnic secessionist movements and state sponsored violence as well as the role of international law and policy in mitigating such conflict. Her work employs formal, quantitative, and qualitative methods to gain a rich understanding of the factors associated with secession and repression. Prior to entering graduate studies at Princeton, Jaquilyn completed a Masters in Public Policy at the University of Minnesota. Her thesis, "Hidden Violence: Minority Repression in an Era of Human Rights" was awarded the 2008 Freeman Stassen Award for International Relations. Jaquilyn also served as a 2007 Upper Midwest Human Rights Fellow to Nadezhda Ukraina in Zaporozhye, Ukraine. She completed her undergraduate degree with majors in Psychology, Sociology, and Philosophy at Iowa State University.
