Oskar N.T. Thoms is currently completing his dissertation on domestic backlash in the international human rights regime. He earned an M.A. in Sociology at Montreal's McGill University (2005) and an M.A. in Political Science at Princeton University (2012). Prior to beginning the Ph.D. studies, he was Research Associate at the McGill Research Group in Conflict and Human Rights (2005/2006) and Visiting Research Associate at the University of Ottawa's Centre for International Policy Studies (2008/2009), and worked as a research consultant on academic and policy projects supported by the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and the Canadian International Development Agency. He has co-authored scholarly articles on human rights, violent conflict and transitional justice in Journal of Peace Research, Human Rights Quarterly, Conflict & Health, and International Journal of Transitional Justice (with James Ron, Roland Paris, and Howard Ramos).
