Healthcare costs and billing. UHS provides all students with comprehensive primary care services at McCosh Health Center. Most services, including medical office visits, individual or group psychological counseling, travel planning, inpatient stays, SHARE services, basic X-rays, and laboratory tests, are available at no direct cost to the student.

Students may be assessed a fee for some services, including some laboratory tests, HIV tests, contraceptives, travel vaccines, orthopedic supplies, medical transport vehicle rentals, matriculation requirements fulfilled on campus, copies of medical records, and the shipping of duplicate X-rays.

If students go to the emergency room for care when UHS is closed, charges are processed according to the benefit provisions of the Student Health Plan; the remaining balances for emergency room treatment and services are then the responsibility of the student.

Students should contact UHS at 609-258-2767 for information about dependent coverage and fees. Students who have health-care needs and do not have the financial resources to pay for service may contact the outpatient services business manager at 609-258-3555 for assistance.
