Sympoh Urban Arts Troupe to perform, April 25-27

Sympoh Urban Arts Troupe will perform "Groove Dialectix: A Hip-Hopera of Destiny, Difference and (Break) Dance" at 8 p.m. Thursday and Saturday, April 25 and 27, at Frist Theater. A 7 p.m. show will take place on Friday, April 26.

Sympoh, Princeton's student urban arts performance group, was founded in 1999 as a breakdancing crew. Sympoh has since evolved into an eclectic group of dancers, disc jockeys and MCs who blend progressive styles such as b-boying, hip-hop, house and rave with martial arts, gymnastics and circus acrobatics.

The performance will trace the odyssey of two groups of dancers through stages of music, dance and knowledge. Its concept was inspired by "West Side Story," "Moulin Rouge" and "Hegel."

Ticket are $6 for students, $8 for senior citizens and staff and $10 for others. Students can get in free with their Passport to the Arts tickets. For advance tickets, call 258-1742.
