The bright orange 2003 sign is ready to be mounted on Nassau Hall for the June 3 commencement ceremony. Electrical shop staffers, from left, Renato Carazzai and Dave Shannon, are working on this project and helping out with the traditional display of the numerical lighted signs that designate class headquarters on campus for Reunions. The two are shown here in a University facility where the signs are stored until they are brought out for the end-of-the-year celebrations. Carazzai has been helping to make the signs since he joined the Princeton staff 44 years ago.

Preparing for Reunions and commencement activities, May 29-June 3

For six days in late May and early June, the Princeton University campus bursts into a variety of celebratory and academic activities for Reunions and commencement.

Reunions activities will draw some 18,000 alumni and their families to campus Thursday through Sunday, May 29-June 1. Highlights of the weekend will include the annual P-rade throughout campus beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday; alumni-faculty forums and department open houses during the day on Friday and Saturday; and performances by student groups, receptions and student/alumni arch sings on Friday and Saturday evenings. All alumni and University representatives are required to have wristbands to participate in Reunions activities in the major reunion headquarters courtyards. Wristbands are not required for attending lectures or watching the P-rade.

Several activities for undergraduate and graduate degree candidates are planned for Sunday through Tuesday, June 1-3:

 • The Baccalaureate Service will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday in the University Chapel. Dean of Admission Fred Hargadon will speak.
 • The Class Day ceremony for seniors is set for 10:30 a.m. Monday on Cannon Green (Dillon Gym in case of severe weather).
 • The Hooding Ceremony for advanced degree candidates will begin at 5 p.m. Monday in McCarter Theatre.
 • The University's 256th Commencement Ceremony is slated for 11 a.m. Tuesday on the lawn in front of Nassau Hall (Jadwin Gym in case of severe weather).

Admission to these four events is by ticket only. The Baccalaureate service will be simulcast on a screen outside of the chapel as well as in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall; McCosh 10, 50, 60, 62, 64 and 66; and Betts Auditorium, School of Architecture; tickets are required at the simulcast sites.

The commencement ceremony will be simulcast in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall; no tickets are required at the simulcast site. All four events will be broadcast live on TigerNet Channel 7 on campus and on Channel A11 on Princeton cable television. In addition, the Baccalaureate, Hooding and Commencement ceremonies will be Webcast. They also will be archived for later viewing at the same site.
