In focus: Department of Chemistry Princeton University's Department of Chemistry provides a distinctly non-traditional approach to graduate and undergraduate education. Using multi-disciplinary study and research, the department crafts individualized programs for students, enabling them to acquire new knowledge through strong mentoring and outstanding intellectual and physical resources.
The chemistry department's undergraduate program provides students with a broad foundation in modern science. It offers smaller classes, the challenge of a unique senior thesis project and personal attention from an internationally-respected faculty. The peer-led organic chemistry course is one example of the department's committment to innovative teaching. The internationally recognized graduate program is small and highly personalized, giving every student the opportunity to work closely with faculty mentors and to engage fully in important research projects. The chemistry faculty is engaged in a wide array of research across the areas of concentration offered by the department, including organic and inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, materials science and theory. |
