Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.

Princeton University will commemorate the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, in Richardson Auditorium of Alexander Hall. This annual event usually starts at 1 p.m.

The annual MLK Day contests, for New Jersey students in grades 4 through 12, are now open. Contest submissions must be received by 5 p.m. on Nov. 18, 2005.

The MLK Day Celebration, which is free and open to the public, generally includes a keynote address, musical selections, and the presentation of awards to essay, poster and video contest winners from area schools.

In addition, the University presents the MLK Day Journey Award to recognize members of the Princeton faculty, staff or student body who best represents King's continued journey. Nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m., Nov. 16, 2005.
