CDC Specialist to Speak on the Ongoing War against Virus Disease
Princeton, N.J. -- Dr. C. J. Peters, chief of the special pathogens branch at the Centers for Disease Control, will give a lecture entitled "Attacking Virus Disease in Developing Countries: Anecdotes from a Practitioner's Perspective," at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs on Thursday, March 26, at 4:30 p.m., in Room 3 of Robertson Hall.
Peters has had a long and varied career in virology, moving him from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., to Panama, San Diego, Calif., and most recently to Atlanta and the CDC. He has been involved extensively in virus control and public health issues in Africa and Latin America throughout his career. His book, Virus Hunter: Thirty Years of Battling Hot Viruses around the World, due from Anchor Books in May, chronicles Peters' career and his ongoing war against rare and lethal viruses.
Peters's lecture is sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
