Princeton Shakespeare Company's ''Tis Pity She's a Whore'' Opens
Princeton, N.J. -- The Princeton Shakespeare Company's 1998 spring production, "Tis Pity She's a Whore," opens a two-weekend run today. This production, directed by Brian Bennett, Class of 1999, returns to the company's original outdoor venue at Lockhart Arch, the site of productions including "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and "Taming of the Shrew."
Run dates are Thursday, April 23, to Sunday April 26 and Thursday, April 30, to Sunday, May 2. Start times are 8 p.m. for the April 23-30 shows and 8:30 p.m. for the May shows. All tickets are $5; for reservations, call 258-2255 and spell SHAKESPEARE. Lockhart Arch is near the Princeton University Store, off University Place in Princeton Borough.
Bennett, last seen in "The Duchess of Malfi" in the Program of Theater and Dance, appeared in PSC's critically acclaimed fall 1997 production of "Julius Caesar." Bennett's production features set and lighting design by Nina Fefferman, an original score by Max Abrams. "Tis Pity She's a Whore," the tale of incest, adultery, and revenge, stars Emily Holland, Class of 2001, as Annabella, Paul Serritella, Class of 1998, as Vasques, Paul Varjan, Class of 1998, as Donado, and Mary Bonner Baker, Class of 2000, as Putana.
