Princeton, N.J. -- Swati G. Bhisé and Company will perform "Devotional Temple Dancing of South India: The Art of Poetry and Sculpture in Motion" at 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, in Taplin Auditorium, Fine Hall, at Princeton University.
Bhisé will be accompanied by vocalist Savitiri Ramanand and percussion player Murali Balachandar-Mridangam in this rendition of a traditional Bharata Natyam concert. In addition to performing in her homeland of India, as well as in the United States, the Far East and Europe, BhisÈ has taught at universities in New York and Texas and established her own institution in New Delhi to train students in her style of dance.
Her Princeton concert is organized by the International Center in conjunction with the South Asian Students Association and the Program in Theater and Dance.
