Now you see it

A ruined 8th-century palace is the topic of the exhibit, "Reconstructing the Mshatta Facade in Jordan: A Digital View of Rediscovered 19th-century Photographs," on the first floor lobby of McCormick Hall through September 30.
For the show, 35 glass plate negatives taken by Rudolph-Ernst Brünnow in 1898 were scanned and enlarged to create panoramic views of the palace as it was before part of the facade was removed to Berlin and other parts were lost.
The exhibit was organized by members of the Art and Archaeology DepartmentAssistant Professor Thomas Leisten, Research Photographs Curator Shari Kenfield, graduate student Andrew Hershberger and photographer David Connellyin conjunction with Kirk Alexander, manager of the Multimedia Engineering Computation Atelier.

TIAA-CREF has tax-deferred annuities

All regular employees at Princeton can establish a tax deferred annuity account through the TIAA-CREF Group Supplemental Retirement Annuity (GSRA) program.
Through this program employees are able to save for retirement by having a specific amount of money withheld from their paychecks each pay period on a before-tax basis. The money is deposited into TIAA-CREF accounts selected by the employee. The money and its earnings are not taxable until it is withdrawn at retirement.
The total amount of pretax dollars that can be contributed annually to a GSRA is determined by limits set by the Internal Revenue Code. Employees who have completed 15 or more years of service with the University may be able to exceed the normal annual IRS limit of $10,500.
A recent mailing sent to faculty and staff at their homes contained information on each employee's personal maximum for calendar year 2000. The mailing also included additional information on how to sign up and take advantage of this benefit. Individuals who want more information should call a benefits administrator at 258-5917.
