Did you know that Princeton University...

• is the largest taxpayer in both Princeton Borough and Princeton Township, paying $5 million in property and sewer taxes?

• voluntarily pays full taxes -- local, county and school -- on all faculty, staff and graduate student residences that have the potential of housing any school-aged children? Under New Jersey law, these properties might qualify for tax exemption, but the University chooses to leave them on the tax rolls to ensure compensation to the public schools.

• has given the borough, township and community organizations millions of dollars in cash and in-kind donations during the past five years?

• spends approximately $275,000 for maintaining 8.5 miles of University-owned, but publicly used roadways, such as Faculty Road, and has spent $2.1 million on crosswalk and road improvement projects on both its own roads and public roads during the past decade?

• provides hundreds of volunteers (staff and students) for area community service organizations every year?
