Clothing donations needed
Members of the University community will have the opportunity to share some holiday spirit through a drive to benefit the Hire Attire Boutique, an organization that collects "gently used" business clothes for men and women.
On weekdays from Dec. 13 through Dec. 20, items may be taken to the Human Resources Training Room at the Armory (Washington Road side) between 8 and 9 a.m. and noon and 2 p.m. The organization needs all types of business and business-casual clothing in good condition, including suits, dress slacks, khakis, dress shirts, ties, belts, jackets, blazers, sweaters, dresses, coats and accessories.
Last year, the University donated more than 1,200 items on hangers and an additional 50 bags of clothing to Hire Attire, which is part of the New Brunswick-based Adult Learning Center. The clothing goes to people who are entering or re-entering the workforce after completing a New Jersey job training program.
The drive is being coordinated by the offices of the associate provost and community and state affairs. Volunteers are needed to help staff the room during the drive. For additional information, contact Blanche Scioli at <bascioli@princeton.edu> or 258-5656.
The clothing drive is just one of several community service initiatives being coordinated through the Office of Community and State Affairs. Others include holiday baskets for "adopted" families and a new toy drive.
