Clark retires as treasurer

Princeton NJ -- Ray Clark, treasurer of the University for 14 years, retired from that position in February. The Board of Trustees approved a resolution in January electing him treasurer, emeritus.

Ray Clark

Clark will continue to have an office on campus at 228 Alexander, where he will oversee the conclusion next year of Partnership 2000, an effort to replace the University's administrative systems with cutting-edge technology.

Clark came to Princeton in 1973 as associate controller. He was named controller in 1975 and treasurer in 1987.

During his tenure, Clark served as chair of the Council on Governmental Relations and as a member of an advisory committee to the Association of American Universities on long-term policy issues relating to the recovery of research costs. He was an ex-officio director of the Princeton Investment Co. and an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees committees on finance and audit.

A past president of Springdale Golf Club, Clark serves on the board of the Medical Center at Princeton and chairs the central New Jersey chapter of the American Red Cross.
