Spotlight
Name: Kelly States
Position: Health and safety specialist in the
Office of Environmental Health and Safety. Providing health
and safety information and training for labs and facilities
employees on topics such as lab safety, forklift safety and
hazard communication. Giving "toolbox talks" in the shops
and evaluating computer work stations throughout campus.
Quote: "I like the variety. I get to go out on
campus quite a bit and meet a lot of people and work with
many different types of jobs."
Other interests: Taking part in church activities.
Playing the piano. Spend- ing time with her husband and the
greyhound they adopted from a rescue organization for former
racers.

People
Amy Macneill has joined the staff as events
coordinator in the Office of the President. She will be
responsible for overseeing the wide range of activities
scheduled at Lowrie House, the president's residence.
Macneill most recently was member relations director at the
Plaza Club, a private business organization in Honolulu,
Hawaii. She also has served as assistant director of the
Collis Center at Dartmouth College, special events
coordinator at the University of Connecticut and assistant
director of admissions at George Washington University.
She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of
Maryland-College Park and her master's degree from the
University of Connecticut.
Lisa Sherov has been named the residence life
coordinator for the Graduate College. She will oversee the
daily management of the college and serve as liaison between
residents and other University offices. Her job is to
provide assistance to residents as they work toward their
academic and personal goals.
Sherov received a master of science in education degree,
with a concentration in higher education administration,
from the University of Pennsylvania in May. While at Penn,
she created, coordinated and implemented programs and
activities at the Wharton School, and advised student
groups. She also designed, conducted and compiled data for a
benchmarking study of student affairs programs at peer
institutions.
Sherov graduated with honors from Rutgers University,
where she also served as the academic and student affairs
dean's assistant.

The Bulletin is published weekly during the academic year, except
during University breaks and exam weeks, by the Office of
Communications, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ 08544. Permission
is given to adapt, reprint or excerpt material from the Bulletin for

Deadline. In general, the copy deadline for each issue is the
Friday 10 days in advance of the Monday cover date. The deadline for
the Bulletin that covers Sept. 24-30 is Friday, Sep. 14. A complete

Subscriptions. The Bulletin is distributed free to faculty,
staff and students. Others may subscribe to the Bulletin for $28 for
