Campus buildingThe Friend Center for Engineering Education was the most recent building dedicated on campus (see story in this issue). According to the building chronology available on Princeton's Web site <http://www.princeton.edu/pr/facts/cgchronology.htm>: The oldest buildings still existing on campus are Maclean House and Nassau Hall, both dating back to 1756. Landmarks including Stanhope Hall, West College, Chancellor Green and Alexander Hall all were constructed in the 1800s. Firestone Library, built in 1948, has been expanded twice -- in 1970 and in 1988. In the 1960s, building dormitories was the name of
the game, with eight constructed in the first half of the
decade. |
