Bernie LaFleur

Spotlight

Name: Bernie LaFleur.

Position: Sexton in the University Chapel. Maintaining the chapel and working with the deans and chaplain to set up for services and ceremonies. Before joining the chapel staff a year and a half ago, he worked in public safety for two years.

Quote: "It's very rewarding to be able to give attention to details that can enhance people's experience in the chapel. I enjoy the beauty of the building and the religious dedication of the staff -- just being involved in the whole picture is amazing. I also really enjoy the students -- seeing them stay in touch with their spirituality even when they're so busy and dedicated to academics."

Other interests: Spending time with his wife and two college-age children, enjoying (and formerly coaching) sports, landscaping and computer graphic design.
