Spring tradition
Princeton NJ -- Seniors in the Woodrow Wilson School of
Public and International Affairs almost were forced to forgo
a spring tradition this year -- until the school's staff
came to the rescue. The seniors normally celebrate the
submission of their theses by jumping into the fountain on
Scudder Plaza at 5 p.m. on the due date. But the plaza is
under construction this year, and the fountain has been
temporarily shut down. The staff helped the students
improvise by purchasing five wading pools and setting them
out on the plaza between Wallace and Corwin. The change in
venue didn't seem to dampen the seniors' enthusiasm,
although the 40-degree temperature on April 4 kept their
dips quick.

The Bulletin is published weekly during the academic year, except
during University breaks and exam weeks, by the Office of
Communications. Second class postage paid at Princeton. Permission is
given to adapt, reprint or excerpt material from the Bulletin for use
in other media.
Subscriptions. The Bulletin is distributed free to faculty,
staff and students. Others may subscribe to the Bulletin for $28 for
the academic year (half price for current Princeton parents and
people over 65). Send a check to Office of Communications, Stanhope
Hall, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ 08544.
Deadline. In general, the copy deadline for each issue is the
Friday 10 days in advance of the Monday cover date. The deadline for
the Bulletin that covers April 29&endash;May 5 is Friday, April
