Post-graduation plans
Princeton NJ -- Each year, the Office of Career Services surveys seniors to gather information about their post-graduation plans. The most recent data available, collected from the Princeton class of 2002, reveal that:
Undergraduates follow diverse paths upon graduation. Some 63 percent of last year's seniors were pursuing full-time employment, 27 percent were planning further education and the remaining 10 percent were engaged in other pursuits, such as travel, professional sports and the military.
Among those employed as of May 2002, the largest numbers were in the financial services (38 percent) and consulting (15 percent) industries. Interest also was strong in the non-profit (11 percent) and manufacturing (11 percent) sectors.
Of those planning to continue their education, 23.6 percent accepted admission into doctoral programs; 20.2 percent into master's programs; 20.5 percent into medical, dental and veterinary schools; and 16.8 percent into law schools.
